Mission and Values

Our Vision

Our vision is a vibrant Korean American community engaged in strengthening our society through philanthropy, volunteerism, and compassionate leadership.

Our Mission

The Korean American Community Foundation (KACF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises and distributes funds to social service organizations serving the Korean American community and beyond. To our supporters, we provide an opportunity to contribute back to the community. To our grantee organizations, we provide financial and other assistance. To the Korean American community, we create awareness of our social service needs and issues, and help cultivate a culture of giving. To the community at large and other communities, we build bridges.

What We Do

KACF provides grants and capacity-building assistance to organizations working to address the most pressing needs in the Korean American community and beyond.  We foster philanthropic giving among Korean Americans, the general public, corporations and foundations by providing our supporters with an effective vehicle to magnify the impact of their giving and to build bridges across generations and communities.

Case Study

In 2005, KACF received a grant from the Ford Foundation for our Inter-Community Development initiative to engage other ethnic communities in organizing a joint community development agenda. As a part of this grant and to document the growth of an emerging ethnic-based philanthropy, the Ford Foundation commissioned a case study of KACF. To read the case study, please click here.
