The KACF's Steering Committee (SC) hosted discussion with KoreanAmericanStory.Org on Korean American identity by looking back at Korean immigration history, reflecting on who Korean Americans are today, and consider the reshaping culture of Korean Americans that lays ahead. This was the second in a series of KACF's public education program that is focused on community issues, philanthropy and Korean American identity.
KACF was selected as one of the Bronze Level Charities in the 2011 ING NYC Marathon!
All 23 runners representing KACF finished the marathon on November 6 and raised over $85,000 in donation as a team!

KACF hosted a Town Hall Meeting with the New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and City Commissioners for the Korean American community. This was a milestone event for the community, reflecting the growing presence and influence of Korean Americans. The Town Hall was a significant first step for the Korean American community to air issues and engaged in dialogue with the New York City Mayor and his Commissioners.

KACF hosted a successful book signing & cocktail reception with Marja Vongerichten to celebrate her book "The Kimchi Chronicles" and her journey of rediscovery with readers through delicious recipes that blend traditional Korean cuisine with American sensibilities.

KACF held its 2nd annual Golf Classic on July 25th at the beautiful Creek Clubhouse in Locust Valley, NY. With nearly 140 guests, the event began with a shotgun start at noon and ended with a dinner at the Beach House overlooking the Long Island Sound. This was the second golf classic for KACF and it was successfully run under the leadership of Co-Chairs Dr. Jeffrey Ahn, Eun Cho, Patricia Han, Joey Lee James (Jim) Wohn.

On June 27, 2010, 24 KACF supporters gathered at the Liberty National Golf Course to take part in a “Golf Outing with PGA Tour Player KJ Choi,” a special event that was one of the silent auction items at the Fourth Annual KACF Gala in 2009. This wonderful opportunity to play with a world-class golfer brought together both die-hard and novice players alike not only for a day of golf, good food and interesting company but also to learn more about what KACF is doing in the community.
KACF would like to thank KJ Choi for generously donating his time. We would also like to acknowledge the Liberty National Golf Course, Shoreham Hotel and the Fireman Foundation for their support of this event.
On June 25th, KACF’s Steering Committee successfully hosted its annual Summer Benefit at Griffin, the hip yet elegant venue in NYC’s enviable meatpacking district. This year, with over 200 guests, the Steering Committee exceeded its fundraising goal in support of KACF’s mission of building a stronger community.
KACF hosted the Gala Benefit Committee Launch and 2010 Grantee Reception on June 22nd at 6:30pm at Arario Gallery.
The Reception is a kick-off event for KACF’s Fifth Annual Gala, which is scheduled for October 20, 2010 at Chelsea Piers, and to welcome and announce KACF’s 2010 grantee partners. This year, the Foundation has awarded $348,000 in grants to 19 nonprofit organizations that are working to provide critical services and leadership in the Korean and Asian American communities in the greater metropolitan NY area.
KACF hosted its 2010 Inaugural Golf Classic on June 14th at the Harbor Links Golf Club in Port Washington New York with more than 130 guests. This was the first golf classic for KACF and it was successfully run under the leadership of Co-Chairs Dr. Mingi Choi, Jin S. Chun, David Chung, Joey Lee, Jeffrey Seo and James (Jim) Wohn.
